Pasty Supper

We strive to keep our worship services, mission programs, and fellowship meaningful and fulfilling at UPC, and so that means trying some new things!  So, we have several special events that happen throughout the year, including:

  • We participate in Monroe’s “Twelfth Night” concert which features choirs offering their Christmas selections.
  • We’ve welcomed guest musicians to help lead our worship (the Basin Sreet Boys).
  • We celebrate Black History Sunday with gospels and “Atimevu” – an African drum ensemble from Madison.
  • We host our annual “Pancake Supper” for the Monroe community on Shrove Tuesday as Lent begins.
  • We offer an Ash Wednesday evening service which includes the imposition of ashes.
  • During Holy Week, we hold evening services for Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.
  • Each year, our choir presents an Easter cantata.
  • We enjoy a Worship in the Park at Northeast Park during one or two Sundays during the summer.
  • We offer one or two healing services per year – a time to be anointed with oil and prayed over.
  • We host our annual “Pasty Supper” every fall for the Monroe community.
  • We go Christmas caroling at the local nursing homes.
  • We offer a 4:00 p.m. Christmas Eve service.
  • Each year, our choir presents a Christmas Cantata.
